PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
The OPERA reservation/information software we use sits behind a firewall. Only selected staff and third-party interfaces (such as Travel Click) can access guest profiles which are encrypted.
Guests create a User ID and Password to access their Maldives Aficionado accounts. Only selected staff and contractors have access to this server.
COLLECTION OF DATA
Reservation data
When you make a reservation, the collection of information is necessary for us to process your booking and make any additional arrangements you request.
This information includes name, gender, nationality, date of birth, contact information such as email address and phone number, credit card or debit card details, bank account details and other preferences relative to making the reservation.
In some circumstances, such as special offers with qualifying criteria, further information may be required such as nationality, date of birth or Maldives Aficionado membership ID. This form also offers you the option to subscribe to our marketing communications.
We sometimes offer packages via third parties whereby your personal information is shared with that third party in order to process your booking request.
Arriving at Amilla
All arriving guests are required to present their identity card (passport), which we make a photocopy of and link to your booking confirmation. This is to verify your arrival and for your safety and security, so that we know which guests are present on our private island at all times.
Communications data for service delivery
Transactional emails such as pre-arrival forms and surveys help inform us about your preferences pertaining to accommodation, services, age of children, and any other aspects of services required/used. The information you provide us with may also include health or dietary considerations and other personal information. This information is recorded to enhance your guest experience and ensure service delivery.
Maldives Aficionado loyalty programme
All guests are welcome to join the Maldives Aficionado loyalty programme. Membership is voluntary. By choosing to enrol, members agree to share additional personal information so that we can deliver an even more personalised quality service, as well as receive marketing communications, promotions, and exclusive offers.
Website Chat
Our website chat feature allows you to communicate directly with us. This feature requires your name and email address. Further information may be requested, depending upon the inquiry.
Cookies
We use cookies on our websites. Cookies are used to identify the browsers, but not an individual, for the purpose of improving the functions in our websites. If you do not want to accept cookies, block them by declining the pop-up cookie request. However, this may reduce your access to some features of the website.
USE OF PERSONAL DATA
Data retention
Personal data is kept for up to three years after the end the commercial relationship between TSMIC and the guest, or three years after the last active contact if the subject is a prospective guest.
If you do not wish your personal data to be collected/used for any of the purposes outlined above, you may decline its use and unsubscribe to all communications.
Unsubscribing
If you do not wish to receive offers or email communications from us, you can unsubscribe by sending an email to sales@amilla.com using the subject line “Unsubscribe”. All our marketing communications will also contain a link for unsubscribing.
Data subject rights
You have the right to request from TSMIC access to/rectification of or erasure of your personal data or to restrict the processing of it and the right to data portability. Those rights can be implemented by sending an email to sales @amilla.com using
DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA TO LIMITED THIRD PARTIES
In limited circumstances it is necessary for data to be shared with a third party. This may include contracted partners/travel agents, service providers and suppliers, consumer insights, credit authorisation and to fulfil legal requirements.
If a third party processes personal information on behalf of the TSMIC, the processing will be governed by a contract agreement. Where applicable, this agreement will impose to the data processor all obligations set up by Article 28 of GDPR.
TSMIC will not disclose guests’ personal data to outside third parties which are not associated with TSMIC.
